Which phones does Islam2Go work on?
iPhone with iOS 15.5 or later, and Android phones with Android 7.0 or later.
Which languages are available?
English, German, French, Italian and Arabic. You can change the language in the app menu at any time.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Sign up with your email address, with Google, or with Sign in with Apple on iPhone.
Why does the app need my location?
To show halal restaurants, mosques and prayer rooms near you, and to calculate your prayer times and the Qibla direction.

How are prayer times calculated?
For your location, using the Muslim World League method through the AlAdhan prayer times service.
The Qibla compass seems off. What can I do?
Hold your phone flat, move away from metal objects and magnets, and make sure location is turned on. The compass needs a phone with a compass sensor.
Halal places
What do Fully, Likely and Weak Halal mean?
Fully Halal: all food and drinks on the menu are 100% halal. Likely Halal: most likely halal, but some items may need checking, so confirm before ordering. Weak Halal: halal status is uncertain or limited, so check ingredients and preparation before ordering.
What does the Verified badge mean?
The restaurant has been verified by the Islam2Go team.
How do I add a restaurant or mosque?
Tap Add New on the restaurants list, the prayer spots list or the map. Your suggestion is reviewed before it appears.
A place has wrong information. What can I do?
Send us a message through the contact form and tell us which place and what needs changing.
Haram Scanner
Is the Haram Scanner a halal certificate?
No. It's an informational tool, not a certification body. For binding rulings, consult a scholar or a recognized halal certification authority.
Why does it say No haram ingredients found instead of Halal?
The scanner checks the ingredients a product declares. It can't verify slaughter or how the product was made. When a product carries a recognized halal certification, the app shows a Halal certified badge.
What if my product isn't found?
Photograph the ingredient label or type the ingredients instead.
Which madhab does it follow?
Mainstream Sunni rulings. Where the four madhabs differ materially, the stricter ruling is applied and noted.
Does it work offline?
No. The scanner needs an internet connection.
Where does the product data come from?
From Open Food Facts (ODbL) and a curated ingredient database. AI is used only for ingredients the database can't resolve.
Community and points
How do I earn points?
By adding places, by scanning Islam2Go QR codes at participating mosques and restaurants (10 points, once an hour for each type of place), and through awards from the team.
What are points for?
Points rank you on the community leaderboard.
Account and privacy
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open your profile and tap Delete Account, then confirm. Your account and data are deleted permanently.
I forgot my password.
Tap Forgot Password? on the sign-in screen. We'll email you a 6-digit code to set a new one.
